Overview
This is a phenomenal opportunity to play a fundamental role in certifying missile sub‑systems for production by leading their mechanical, climatic and EMC qualification trials. Salary is approximately £55,000, dependent on experience. The working arrangement is dynamic (hybrid), typically requiring 3 days per week on site. You must be a British citizen or a dual UK national with British citizenship, and all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

You will be responsible for translating verification plans and requirements into structured trial instructions, overseeing test execution and delivering high‑quality trial reports to support critical certification activities. You will ensure the highest standards of safety and quality while working closely with sub‑system and test equipment design teams, as well as EMC, mechanical, and climatic testing experts. Your role will involve:
- Bringing qualification campaigns from paper to reality and ensuring rigorous testing at the Stevenage and Bristol facilities.
- Collaborating with safety, quality, and security specialists to uphold strict compliance and industry best practices.
- Providing essential evidence to qualify both early‑stage and mature designs before production.
- A strong understanding of electronic and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of EMC and/or RF testing.
- Familiarity with actuator and radio technologies.
- Experience producing structured trial instructions and high‑quality test reports.
- Ability to interpret specifications, design documents, and safety sheets.
- Proven experience conducting field and/or lab trials.
- Experience testing hardware in mechanical, climatic, and EMC environments.
- Experience setting up test equipment and units under test (UUTs).
- Awareness of quality control processes.
- Handling of ESD‑sensitive devices.
- Safe manual handling practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and test integrity.
- Strong sense of accountability with the ability to take ownership of trials and reporting responsibilities.
- Candidate must successfully complete HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
