Stevenage

The Launch Management System Design Authority is responsible for ensuring the technical development, certification sign‑off and in‑service support for the Launch Management System (LMS) on the Sea Ceptor and Land Ceptor programmes.

Salary: £49,000‑£57,000 (depending on experience)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3‑4 days per week on‑site due to workload classification.

Security clearance:
British citizenship or a dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer.

Responsibilities

By building on and maintaining a complex structure of functional and physical design, you will ensure every aspect of the LMS can be verified, validated and accepted into the Weapon System capability by our customers. You will engage across system design, software engineering, electronics, mechanical engineering, in‑service reliability and support, safety, cybersecurity and other disciplines. You will also ensure the hardware and software design continues to evolve to meet the overall system capability expected by our customers.

Qualifications
  • Design leadership for a complex electronics subsystem
  • Manage technical risks and opportunities in line with product development requirements
  • Develop strong relationships with Product Design stakeholders
  • Master systems engineering principles, processes and practices
  • Experience in requirements engineering at system, subsystem or component level to enable product evolution and system certification
  • Broad knowledge of hardware and software build for computer‑based electronics equipment
  • Ability to validate test procedures required to verify products and gather evidence for certification
