Finance Analyst
- Costing:
We are recruiting for a Finance Analyst
- Costing to join our Financial Planning & Costing team. The role will support the preparation and presentation of trust service line reporting and patient level information and cost reports, support transition to cost-based funding mechanisms, identify productivity and efficiency opportunities, and contribute to the trust's transformation agenda.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and present service line reporting and patient level information and cost reports.
- Support transition to cost-based funding mechanisms.
- Contribute to transformation agenda through identification of productivity and efficiency opportunities.
- Lead the collection and validation of financial and activity data.
- Assist with development of processes and methodologies to improve costing outputs.
- Completed AAT Technician Stage or in progress studying for a CCAB/CIMA qualification (essential).
- CCAB qualification (desirable).
- Degree or equivalent (desirable).
- Experience working in NHS financial management or costing (essential).
- Experience working with large complex datasets (essential).
- Familiarity with presenting complex information to a range of stakeholders (essential).
- Experience with acute provider NHS costing data; service line reporting and/or patient level information & cost systems (desirable).
- Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (desirable).
- Experience building and maintaining reports in Power BI (desirable).
- IT literate and proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word and advanced keyboard skills (essential).
- Analytical skills and ability to apply knowledge to workload (essential).
- Advanced Excel skills (desirable).
- Good SQL query writing skills (desirable).
- Understanding of accounting procedures, financial systems and general ledger (essential).
- Understanding of NHS finance regime and environment (essential).
- Knowledge of NHS costing standards and principles (desirable).
- Understanding of NHS SUS & HES activity reporting (desirable).
