Job DescriptionA role has arisen within the CTP EASTERN Operational Intelligence Management Team (OIMU), a small team based at a covert location within Hertfordshire, receiving and assessing intelligence product from internal and external partners relating to CTP Operations.
You will use Police and Law Enforcement systems to conduct detailed and thorough research. You will thrive on identifying links and associations between disparate pieces of intelligence and work with a range of partners to combat the threat of terrorism not only across the Eastern Region but internationally.
Your responsibilities include:
- Receiving and assessing intelligence for Threat/Harm/Risk and CT relevance.
- Identifying opportunities where intelligence can be further developed, leveraging existing relationships or establishing new ones.
- Making appropriate safeguarding referrals to protect vulnerable individuals.
- Working well within a small, established team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and unsupervised when required.
- Maintaining confident and accurate communication skills at all levels when working under pressure.
- Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role due to the critical nature of CTP EASTERN’s work.
The role offers a good work/life balance with core working hours Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600. The position is desk‑based due to the secure nature of the work, yet requires flexibility regarding working location and hours due to the unpredictable nature of Counter Terrorism Policing.
EligibilityApplicants are required to meet nationality and residency requirements so that National Security Vetting (NSV) checks can be conducted. To apply for this role, you must also have resided continuously in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years, 2 of which must have been the immediately preceding years from the point of application.
VettingThis post is designated a ‘reserved post’ under the Civil Service Nationality Rules and is open only to UK Nationals. Applicants holding dual nationality may be required to relinquish non‑British nationality as a condition of appointment. All applicants must undergo Management Vetting and Security Clearance (5‑year residency criteria) or Development Vetting before taking up the post. The Police Corporate Vetting Unit will conduct security vetting on successful candidates, their families and others sharing the same home address, which includes financial checks.
Feedback will not be provided if clearance is declined.
