Job Title: Optometrist – Part time

Location: Stevenage

Employment Type: Part time, Permanent contract, Days shift, 28 hours per week

Overview

At Asda Opticians, the health and wellbeing of customers is paramount. Our priority is to always put them first by delivering high‑quality patient care and service. A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations.

Responsibilities

You will be working alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching and maintaining departmental standards. You will support the delivery of NHS‑extended service contracts, caring for eye‑condition treatment and monitoring, and will be encouraged to gain any additional accreditations required to deliver these services.

  • Week1:
    Tuesday 09:00–17:30, Wednesday
    09:00–17:30, Saturday
    09:00–17:30
  • Week2:
    Tuesday
    09:00–17:30, Wednesday
    09:00–17:30, Friday
    09:00–17:30, Saturday
    09:00–17:30
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Registered performer with NHS area team or health board MECs/WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining Asda)
  • On track to meet statutory CPD points requirement
  • Ability to deliver memorable customer experience, drive new patient services and shape department culture

Applicants must be registered with the General Optical Council for the relevant professional role and possess evidence of Right to Work in the UK. Evidence of NHS performer status and two clinical references will also be required. Welsh candidates must provide WEC accreditation and WGOS module accreditation.
