Up to £37,831 (FTE, depending on experience)

Position Summary

We are looking to employ an experienced Trainee Forensic Psychologist to join our Psychology Department at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. The successful candidate will join a team of qualified, trainee, assistant & honorary psychologists. Cygnet Hospital Stevenage is an 82-bedded hospital with six wards: a medium secure male ward, two low secure (male and female) wards, two PICU male wards and one acute female ward.

Qualifications
  • Already or due to be enrolled on a Forensic Training course that leads to professional registration as a Forensic Psychologist (e.g., BPS Stage 2, Post Graduate Diploma or Doctorate course)
  • Experience in forensic settings such as hospitals, prisons or probation
  • Will be working towards becoming a Practitioner Psychologist under the supervision of an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist
Responsibilities
  • Work across the hospital and be attached to a secure ward, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Apply skills and expertise in clinical and risk assessments
  • Collaboratively develop formulations and care plans
  • Deliver group and individual psychological interventions
  • Offer consultation, supervision and training across the service
