Social Worker - Adults Multi-Disciplinary Team

Full Time | 37.5 Hours | 4-Month Contract (Potential Extension)

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Recovery Worker to join our dynamic team in Stevenage where your expertise in substance misuse will make a real impact. As part of our service, you will support individuals on their journey to recovery, helping them reclaim control over their lives. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £23.00, with potential for extension after the initial 4-month contract.

What you will do

  • Manage a varied caseload of service users, guiding them from initial engagement through to treatment, recovery planning, and their successful exit from services.
  • Conduct detailed assessments, risk evaluations, care planning, and ongoing reviews adhering to organisational policies and clinical governance.
  • Facilitate one-to-one and group psychosocial interventions focused on recovery, prevention of relapse, harm reduction, and overall wellbeing.
  • Advise and support on issues related to substance misuse, physical health, mental health, as well as assisting with housing, employment, and promoting social inclusion.
  • Collaborate effectively with prescribing clinicians, healthcare professionals, safeguarding teams, and community partners to develop and execute effective support plans.

Requirements

  • Current DBS on the update service
  • Demonstrated experience in substance misuse (drugs & alcohol)
  • Strong caseload management and key working skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction and recovery models
