Role SummaryWe are recruiting a software security expert to support the development of advanced defence systems across our product range.
SalaryCirca £74,000 depending on experience
Working ArrangementDynamic (hybrid) – 3 to 5 days per week on site, as required by workload classification.
Security ClearanceBritish Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship required. Successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) and, as a minimum, will undergo DV clearance. This is an SC security clearance role.

Key Aspects of the Role- Guide security aspects of product development across the lifecycle, from concept to in‑service support
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on security requirements, techniques, architecture, design patterns, coding standards and best practices
- Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks for software projects
- Conduct security assessments and risk analyses of technologies and software systems, identifying vulnerabilities and threats, and develop mitigation strategies
- Support continuous improvement by identifying process improvement opportunities and contributing to the development and implementation of software development methodologies, tools, and frameworks
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of security processes, procedures and guidelines; generate security reports and metrics to track security activities, vulnerabilities and remediation efforts
- Experience developing complex software products in Defence, Automotive, Aerospace, Telecoms or similar sectors
- Experience in software security with knowledge of industry standards and best practices
- Strong collaboration, technical leadership and communication skills; comfortable with problem solving and technical challenges
- Interest in novel and emerging technologies and the security challenges they present
- Experience developing embedded software and/or firmware is beneficial but not essential
- Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subject or similar; comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering teams
