We're looking for a Data Centre Manager to take ownership of critical UK infrastructure and data centre environments for a major defence organisation. You'll be the person accountable when it matters, leading operational stability, resilience and security across server, storage, network and cloud environments, and you'll manage the team and third-party providers who keep it all running.

This isn't a maintenance role. You'll lead disaster recovery testing and failover exercises, own business continuity planning, and drive continuous improvement across power, cooling and building management systems. You'll also line-manage the UK Data Centre Operations Manager, so this comes with real leadership scope, not just technical oversight.

What you'll need:

* Solid experience managing data centre or critical infrastructure environments, including server, storage, network and cloud

* Strong background in disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) planning, including leading DR testing and failover exercises

* Working knowledge of power infrastructure (UPS, generators, distribution), cooling systems, and building management systems (BMS)

* Experience applying operational governance, change control and risk management in a live, mission-critical environment

* A track record managing vendors and third-party suppliers in a facilities or infrastructure context

* Comfortable leading a team through live incidents, including participation in a call-out rota

Good to have, not essential:

* ITIL certification or equivalent

* CDCP or CDCM certification

* Familiarity with ISO
27001, ISO
22301 or MOD DCC & SbD

* Experience with DCIM or infrastructure monitoring tools

* Background managing multi-site, national data centre environments

Security Clearance:
British citizenship required. This role requires DV clearance. If you don't currently hold it, you'll need to be eligible and willing to go through the process.

On offer: salary circa £65,500 depending on experience, bonus up to 21% of base, pension contributions up to 14%, and a genuinely flexible hybrid working pattern.
