Band 3 - Supply Chain Controller, Procurement & Supply Chain

We have a great opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join our Procurement and Supply Chain Department as a Supply Chain Controller.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using various IT systems, both desktop and handheld devices.
  • Receiving goods, stock rotation, replenishment, cycle counting, internal distribution and supporting migration to a full Inventory Management system.
  • Working closely with the wider Supply Chain team and independently when required.
  • Physically demanding duties including safe manual handling practices.
  • Occasional travel to other Trust sites for cover.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Ordering and stowing stock at ward/department level, utilising bar code systems where applicable.
  • Top‑up of wards and clinical areas according to predetermined schedule.
  • Timely receipt of orders and top‑up on Trust Inventory system.
  • Replenish, receipt, issue and stow stock using Genesis system.
  • Rotate stock by expiry date when topping‑up storage locations.
  • Process requisitions on the computer system within agreed input timetable and authorise orders for wards and departments.
  • Process supplier returns efficiently, ensuring correct paperwork and suppliers raise credit.
  • Maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other Supply Chain Controllers to adopt standardised best practice initiatives per Supply Chain Manager's instructions.

Job responsibilities
  • Deal with queries in a professional and efficient manner, treating customers as you would wish to be treated.
  • Organise and prioritise workloads with competing deadlines, managing conflicting demands efficiently.
  • Work 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday.
  • May involve multiple site visits and flexible working.
Person Specification Education and qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience of stores management or CIPS qualifications or courses attended.
  • Good standard of General Education.
  • Good IT and keyboard skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NHS.
  • An understanding of Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and Procurement procedures.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
  • Willingness to work towards CILT qualification.
Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of basic office and business practices.
  • Knowledge of basic Supply Chain management.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a stock control environment.
  • Knowledge of goods & services used within NHS.
Experience
  • Previous demonstrable experience of customer service.
  • Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft office software such as Excel and Word.
