We're looking for a passionate and driven Sales Manager to lead a successful sales team within a customer‑focused business. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll inspire your team to achieve outstanding results while maintaining exceptional customer service and regulatory standards. Whilst you will not have your own targets in terms of sales activity, you are very much responsible for the team’s target!
This is not a role for someone looking to move into management for the first time – previous experience leading and developing a sales team is essential. Based a few minutes walk from Stevenage train station, you will be managing a team of 8. Once up and running, this will be a hybrid role;
Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm 3 days in the office, 2 at home.
- Lead, motivate and inspire a team to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets
- Coach and develop individuals through regular one‑to‑ones, feedback, and performance reviews
- Identify underperformance early and implement tailored coaching and development plans
- Monitor sales performance, quality, customer outcomes, cancellations, and complaints, taking action where required
- Create a positive, high‑performing culture where success is recognised and celebrated
- Manage day‑to‑day team operations, including workload planning, holidays, shift swaps, and absence management
- Ensure compliance with FCA regulations, company procedures, and quality standards
- Analyse performance data and KPIs to identify opportunities to improve results and customer outcomes
- Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and the ongoing development of new team members
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and business success
- Previous experience leading and developing a sales team is essential
- Proven ability to coach, motivate, and inspire individuals to achieve their potential
- Experience managing KPIs, performance, and quality standards
- Previous experience within a regulated sales environment is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship‑building skills
- Commercially minded with the ability to analyse data and drive performance improvements
- Positive, resilient, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer outcomes
- £35,000 - £40,000 basic salary
- £41,000 - £46,000 OTE
- 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
