Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Starting Salary: £48,226 progressing to £53,460 per annum (pro rata for part time) - Pay award pending

Hours:37 hours per week

Location:Countywide, hybrid working. Office based is at Farnham House (Stevenage), with frequent travel required to other offices in Hertfordshire.

Contract Type: Fixed Term to March 2028

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a strong track record of leading complex transformation projects across multiple organisations, influencing senior stakeholders and delivering sustainable change.

About

The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of complex projects that support the transformation of health and social care services across Hertfordshire. You will be responsible for driving change across organisational boundaries, influencing senior leaders and ensuring successful delivery of strategic priorities within a complex partnership environment. You will work closely with stakeholders across health and social care organisations, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, frameworks, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of complex projects across health and social care.
  • Provide professional project management leadership, ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes, timescales, budgets and benefits.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders across partner organisations.
  • Lead complex project governance arrangements, preparing reports and presenting progress, risks and recommendations to boards and senior leaders.
  • Manage complex project budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on project management approaches, supporting continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Provide leadership, support and development to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Lead and contribute to service transformation and wider programme development across the Integrated Care Programme Team.
About You Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Project Leadership Significant experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities and organisational boundaries.
  • Leadership, Influencing and Matrix Working Experience of managing and developing a team, alongside working within a matrix environment, influencing, negotiating and gaining commitment from senior stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Political and Organisational Awareness Understanding of the health and local government landscape and the ability to provide advice and guidance within complex environments.
  • Financial, Governance and Contract Management Experience managing project budgets, monitoring expenditure, preparing governance reports and applying contract management principles.
