About the team

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join us as a Service Manager within the East and North Adult Disability Team. We are seeking applications from motivated and experienced professionals who are passionate about leading high-quality services for adults with disabilities and their carers.

About the role

As a Service Manager, you will provide operational leadership and oversight to multidisciplinary locality teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services in line with our Connected Lives principles and statutory responsibilities under the Care Act.

Working closely with the Deputy Head of Service and other Service Managers, you will support Team Managers to drive excellent practice, manage performance, and deliver positive outcomes for people who use our services.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, support and oversight to Team Managers and multidisciplinary teams (social work, occupational therapy, nursing).
  • Drive high-quality, strengths-based practice that promotes independence, choice, control, and inclusion.
  • Support the delivery of the Connect & Prevent Programme within Adult Disability Services.
  • Monitor and manage performance, ensuring services meet key performance indicators and quality standards.
  • Contribute to effective budget management, ensuring resources are used responsibly while maintaining positive outcomes for citizens.
  • Support the management of demand and promote equitable and consistent service delivery across localities.
  • Lead and support change and service development, embedding new ways of working and organisational priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with health partners, commissioners and wider stakeholders to deliver integrated, person-centred care.
  • Provide oversight and support on complex cases, ensuring appropriate risk management and decision‑making.
About you

You will be an experienced and confident leader with a strong commitment to supporting adults with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. You will bring a track record of delivering high-quality services and supporting teams to achieve excellent outcomes.

Essential
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse
  • Experience of managing or supporting multi-disciplinary teams within adult social care or health
  • Proven ability to support high-quality practice and performance management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • Management qualification or leadership development
  • Experience of budget monitoring and resource management
  • Experience of managing change and service improvement
  • Strong partnership working across health and social care systems
