Mechanical Technician

You will get the exciting opportunity to take ownership of inspection and certification of complex mechanical hardware, ensuring high standards and smooth production across the full lifecycle. Shape processes and maintain quality while working with skilled colleagues in a fast-paced defence environment.

What you will need

• British Citizen

• Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Level 3 qualification or Apprenticeship

• Experienced in reading and interpreting assembly drawings and planning instructions

• Skilled in inspecting mechanical hardware for damage and build integrity

Salary and rewards
Up to £43,000 plus an annual performance-related bonus, a pension scheme with contributions up to 14 per cent, and flexible working arrangements

What you will be doing

• Inspect and certify mechanical builds, from small fixtures to complex systems

• Ensure all manufacturing documentation is complete and accurate

• Maintain high workmanship and product quality standards

• Collaborate with Operators, Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges

• Support programme targets on time, cost and quality

• Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team

Your experience

• Practical experience in mechanical inspection and manufacturing

• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Familiarity with ESD and FOD awareness is advantageous

• Flexible, adaptable and able to work under deadlines

• Able to produce work to very high standards
