Stores Coordinator
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Shift: Monday - Friday, Day Shift
Location:
Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Stores Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing and controlling all material requirements to ensure efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role plays a vital part in making sure that materials are accurately received, stored, issued, and recorded in accordance with internal procedures, inventory control standards, and company policies.
Working closely with the Purchasing and Planning departments, the Stores Coordinator will help maintain optimal stock levels, prevent shortages or overstock situations, and support production schedules. This position requires proactive coordination to ensure that materials are available at the right time, in the correct quantities, and meet quality specifications.
The Stores Coordinator Role:
* Take ownership of work quality, ensuring tasks are completed accurately, on schedule, and in line with departmental KPIs.
* Assist with warehouse improvement initiatives, including storage optimisation and layout enhancements.
* Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required.
* Receive and book in materials accurately within the stores function.
* Inspect components and returned items for damage or shortages, ensuring all relevant Batch, Lot, and Serial numbers are captured during the receipt process.
* Process and confirm goods receipts within the MRP system.
* Ensure materials are picked and issued efficiently to the manufacturing team in line with daily production requirements.
* Adhering to health and safety while applying lean principles within a continuous improvement environment
You’ll need:
* Previous experience working with inventory or stock control systems.
* Materials handling qualification desirable; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
* Results-driven with a proactive and adaptable approach.
* Strong attention to detail and structured handling of materials transactions.
* Good working knowledge of inventory control and stock movement processes.
* Understanding of warehouse operations and exposure to lean methodologies.
* Experience using MRP or similar enterprise systems.
* Warehousing and Distribution certifications would be advantageous.
