Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Salary
:
Circa £60,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working
: 4‑5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Manufacturing Engineering team for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join the team.

You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day design, proof, implementation and maintenance of Production Systems to deliver product on time, with quality and cost effectiveness. You will provide Engineering Leadership to a multi‑disciplined team of Manufacturing, Process and Test Engineers alongside Industrial Validation of the internal and external supply chain. You will lead a project through the manufacturing lifecycle and achieve full validation of the manufacturing system.

• Constantly investigate new approaches and techniques to manufacturing and their potential application within the specialised Defence sector of MBDA.
• Support the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, FAI's, and other methods.
• Drive change in the business, implementing manufacturing improvements using alternative approaches such as automation, robots and the adoption of VR.
• Influence the allocation of capital investment budgets and lead individual projects, ensuring the facility remains at the forefront of manufacturing and that competitive advantage is increased.
• Establish and implement necessary strategy for continuous improvement, driving it through your team to increase MBDA’s market share in an environment of ever‑increasing competition.
• Lead a team of Engineers, providing direction to develop and motivate people and ensuring the successful performance of your team through your leadership skills.
• Identify requirements to ensure a successful transition from development to production, including transfer of CCA builds from Manufacturing Stevenage to Bolton.
• Support manufacturing architecture plans to operate lean principles, while compiling business cases for process improvements and factory‑of‑the‑future concepts.
• Support and champion the Non‑Conformance Process.

• Degree qualified or equivalent.
• Experience with Industrial Validation of the internal and external supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to influence and drive change.
• Focus on continuous improvements.
• People management skills.
• Understanding of lean principles.
