Machine Setter / Senior Machine Setter - Permanent Nights. Stevenage, Hertfordshire | Food Manufacturing | 4 on 4 off | 7pm-7am.

If you enjoy getting machinery running properly, tackling production problems and seeing the results of your work on a busy line, this could be a good next step.

We are recruiting for a Machine Setter / Senior Machine Setter to join an established food manufacturing operation in Stevenage on a permanent night shift. Working four nights on and four nights off, from 7pm to 7am, you will set up and adjust production equipment, carry out changeovers and keep the line running safely and efficiently. There is also scope for team leadership within the senior position.

What

you'll be doing:
  • Setting up, adjusting and operating production machinery.
  • Carrying out product changeovers with minimal disruption to output.
  • Checking machine performance, spotting issues early and making practical adjustments.
  • Completing routine equipment checks and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Working with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve problems and reduce downtime.
  • Keeping accurate production and quality records, while maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene.
What we're looking for:

You may already be working as a Machine Setter, Production Setter, Packaging Machine Operator or Line Technician. Equally, if you have a practical approach and want to develop your skills in manufacturing, we would be keen to hear from you.

  • A hands-on approach to working with machinery and solving problems.
  • A strong eye for detail and a commitment to safe, quality-focused production.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues across the site.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, production changeovers or mechanical adjustments would be useful, but training and development are part of the opportunity.
Why consider it?

You will be joining a growing manufacturing business offering structured training, exposure to modern production equipment and opportunities to build your technical skills. This is a permanent nights position with a 4 on 4 off rota, working 7pm to 7am. For more experienced applicants, the senior position offers an opportunity to take on greater responsibility within the production team.
