We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Cardiac Suite at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is currently looking for a dynamic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our progressive cardiology team.
The area provides 24/7 primary angioplasty service and is continuously expanding the service to ensure high quality patient care.
Main duties of the jobThe successful candidate will assist the cardiologist in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
You will ensure the effective maintenance of paper and integrated electronic communication systems to enhance clinical practice.
You will undertake an active role in the development, monitoring and auditing of standards for use within the clinical area.
The post holder may also undertake and participate in clinical training in other Cardiac Centres to facilitate self-development as well as providing support to the department.
Qualifications / Training- Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
- Commitment to lifelong learning
- Evidence of further education, training and on‑going learning
- Ability to produce updated personal professional portfolio
- Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification
- Understanding of the patient pathway including national waiting targets
- Previous experience within a cardiac catheter lab setting
- Experience of non‑invasive cardiology tests
- Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team
- Good self‑awareness of professional limitations within NMC Code of Conduct
- Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate good organisational skills
- Venipuncture and cannulation
- Broad knowledge of cardiology and the management of cardiac conditions, with an understanding of ECGs
- Understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion
- Role model our Trust values every day
- Awareness of strategies for maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
- Flexibility around working hours with clinical and rotational shifts
- Knowledge of appropriate specialist nursing care requirements
- Resource management (awareness of budget/supplies)
