Overview
Principal Quality Assurance Engineer focusing on New Product Introduction (NPI) across the UK and international Supply Chain. Salary:
Circa £50,000 depending on experience. Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days on-site per week. Security clearance:
British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. Candidates must undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer.
- Develop and implement the supplier Quality strategy and establish supplier Quality requirements.
- Assure the evolution of the supplier's products and processes from a Quality perspective.
- Act as a key interface for applicable suppliers supporting the programme from a Quality standpoint.
- Conduct international travel and perform proactive supplier Quality surveillance throughout the full lifecycle of the programme.
- Support identification and reduction of project risk or issues related to process application, effectiveness, and compliance across the supply chain.
- Collaborate within a well-established team to deliver assured, complex systems to customers.
- Experience as an engineer in supply chain or manufacturing (ideally defence, automotive, or aerospace).
- Quality professional with experience in process-based integrated management systems and business improvement in engineering/manufacturing/supply chain environments.
- Strong NPI and Product development experience.
- APQP/PPAP or similar product development framework experience.
- Ability to review and influence DFMEA/PFMEA; understanding of product validation life cycles.
- Experience conducting Quality Audits and surveillance; familiarity with change control processes.
- Experience with Supplier Quality tools and processes; experience with Quality management systems and methods.
- Demonstrated Supplier Quality Management skills; strong cross-functional and soft skills; ability to travel to supplier sites.
- Knowledge of Special Processes;
First Article Inspection (AS9102); EN/AS9100. - Experience with Quality Tools and Techniques (8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen) and non-conformance management; leading Quality investigations.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels; good planning and organisational skills.
- Awareness of regulatory and certification requirements; ideally qualified to at least HND or HNC.
