Stevenage or Bolton (Hybrid Working) | £26.85 per hour Umbrella | 12-Month Contract (Highly Likely Extension)
We're recruiting for a Vetting Officer to join a well-established organisation operating within the defence and security sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in security vetting, personnel security, or compliance administration to join a busy and growing team supporting the onboarding and management of security-cleared personnel.
Working within a fast-paced security function, you'll be responsible for managing vetting activities, supporting recruitment processes, liaising with external agencies, and ensuring security clearance requirements are progressed efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
Support the processing of BPSS and UKSV security clearances for new starters.
Manage confidential and complex vetting cases.
Act as a key point of contact for vetting-related queries and issues.
Liaise with UKSV and other external security agencies where required.
Maintain and update clearance information across vetting databases and IT systems.
Support wider Personnel Security and Security Services activities.
Assist with the implementation of security vetting strategy and process improvements.
Contribute to departmental projects and ensure key deadlines are met.
Essential Experience
Experience of HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes .
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to administration.
Experience using electronic vetting databases and multiple IT systems.
Positive, proactive and professional attitude.
Additional Information
Hybrid working: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home .
One-stage interview process with potential initial telephone screening.
Pre-employment medical required before starting.
