Ackerman Pierce is recruiting for 2 Senior Practitioner positions within the Stevenage North Safeguarding - Car Driver essential. This opportunity is suited to a committed professional who can manage complex statutory work while providing confident professional leadership, sound decision-making and support to colleagues.
The successful candidate will join an established local-authority service and work with colleagues, individuals, families, carers and partner organisations as appropriate to the assignment. The emphasis will be on timely, well-reasoned practice, clear communication and achieving safe, person-centred outcomes.
Key responsibilities- Hold and progress complex cases in accordance with the remit of the allocated service.
- Complete and quality-assure assessments, plans, reports and statutory interventions.
- Provide professional guidance, constructive challenge and practical support to colleagues where required.
- Identify, analyse and respond to safeguarding concerns and changing levels of risk.
- Contribute to effective multi-agency planning, decision-making and service development.
- Maintain high standards of recording, accountability and timely case progression.
- An experienced, qualified Social Worker with the professional registration required for the assignment.
- Strong statutory practice experience and confidence working with complex safeguarding and risk.
- Able to provide professional leadership while remaining accountable for an allocated workload.
- Clear, analytical and collaborative, with high standards of written and verbal communication.

Hertfordshire Children's Services are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Practitioner to join their Safeguarding Team. This is a key leadership role supporting the Team Manager in delivering high-quality safeguarding interventions for children and families where there are significant concerns regarding child welfare, child protection, and risk.
The successful candidate will manage complex cases, provide practice leadership to Social Workers, support less experienced staff, and ensure statutory duties are met in line with safeguarding legislation and Hertfordshire's practice standards.
Case Management
Hold and manage a complex caseload
Undertake assessments and formulate intervention plans.
Complete risk assessments and analytical reports for court and safeguarding meetings.
Ensure children's voices are central to all decision-making.
Undertake Section 47 investigations
Identify and Manage risk whilst ensuring timely interventions
Provide mentoring, coaching, and informal supervision to Social Workers.
Support Newly Qualified Social Workers and less experienced practitioners.
Lead by example in demonstrating high-quality social work practice.
Promote strengths-based and relationship-based practice models.
