Job Details
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled EKG Technician for a 13-week travel assignment in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Required Qualifications:
• One year's recent experience as an EKG Technician required
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
• EKG Certification (ETC, CCT, CET)
Summary:
EKG Technicians assist physicians in diagnosing and treating various cardiovascular conditions by performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests that record and monitor the electrical impulses transmitted by a patient’s heart. They work directly with patients to ensure accurate test results and collaborate with healthcare teams to provide essential data for patient care.
Essential Work Functions:
• Attach EKG electrodes to patients to monitor heart activity and remove them once the test is complete
• Educate the patient and/or family regarding the function and process of EKG examinations
• Administer stress tests/Holter monitors
• Monitor and record electrocardiogram readings identify abnormal patterns for review by a physician or licensed provider
• Observe and record patient status and progress and report abnormal findings appropriately
• Monitor EKG equipment and report any malfunctions
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Practice infection prevention through consistent hand hygiene, use of PPE, and isolation precautions
Required Essential

• The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
• Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
• Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
