BHSI has an exciting opportunity for a Call Center Sales Representative with our travel division, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection (BHTP). This is a full-time position with hours of work between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST. BHTP provides education and support for our new team members to become licensed travel insurance agents. We offer a salaried nonexempt wage, with additional opportunity to earn bonuses based on yearly performance.
No prior travel insurance experience is required to be successful in this role. Candidates with experience in providing excellent customer service, who can think quickly to find unique solutions, and have the ability to recommend products resulting in sales will be competitive for this role. This role is based in our Stevens Point, WI office.
- Answer incoming phone calls from customers who are seeking our products (no outgoing sales calls)
- Ask the right questions about the customer needs and the trip to determine which BHTP Travel Insurance product(s) would be best suited for the customer
- Educate the customer on the different products, explain the benefit of each product, and how the product directly relates to the customer's specific travel
- Complete the sales process with the customer and the selected products
- Assist current customers with plan questions or updates/cancellations
- Potentially assist with some travel assistant services
- Prior customer service experience recommended, preferably 1+ years of experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn new accounts and updates to policies
- Experience in conflict resolution or de-escalating tense situations
- Proven experience in product or service is beneficial, but we are willing to train the right individual
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
