MSS RN – Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services
, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., located in Stevens Point, WI.
As a key member of the plasma collection team, you will support daily operations, ensure donor eligibility, manage medical events, and uphold quality and safety standards.
About the RoleYou will determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interviews, physical examinations, and laboratory test reviews such as Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). You will manage donor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues.
How You Will Contribute- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing.
- Review serological tests and evaluate donor reactions following SOPs.
- Provide medical emergency care and coordinate donor transport to emergency facilities.
- Consult with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs on safety, eligibility, and technical issues.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER when required.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑required basic IV therapy certification.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Hourly wage range: $31.92–$43.89 (actual pay may vary by qualifications and experience). Eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time and 120 hours of paid vacation.
