Accounting Clerk

Description

We are looking for a highly organized Accounting Clerk to join a team on a contract basis in Stillwater, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for managing both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Handle full-cycle Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks, including managing invoices, purchase orders, and payment processing.

- Conduct 3-way matching to verify the accuracy of payments and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with clients and team members.

- Accurately post and reconcile cash applications to ensure proper financial reporting.

- Investigate and address short payments or other payment issues to maintain account integrity.

- Process purchase orders and invoices, minimizing manual entry where possible.

- Research and resolve remittance discrepancies to guarantee timely payment processing.

- Maintain thorough documentation of Accounts Payable (AP) transactions in compliance with company policies.

- Assist with monthly closing activities for both AR and AP functions.

- Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve outstanding financial issues.

- Uphold confidentiality and a high level of attention to detail in all financial operations.

Requirements - Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

- Proficiency in financial software such as Quick Books and SAP.

- Strong skills in data entry and invoice processing.

- Familiarity with cash applications and purchase order management.

- Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles.

- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
