The Building Services Project Manager would plan, coordinate, oversee and direct major facility construction projects. Manage construction contracts and negotiate contract fees. Prepare project cost estimates. Create the design and layout for small or minor projects. Write requests for proposals and send them to potential project vendors and recommend the selection of contract vendors. Perform code and contract compliance inspections for projects involving County-wide facilities construction, renovation and remodeling, including structural and non-structural plan review and field inspection of construction and remodeling work.

Develop communication strategies to notify public and employees about construction progress and impacts. Develop design criteria, sketches and schematic drawings, specifications, and details necessary to accomplish the required tasks for special projects.

Desirable Experience
  • Paid work experience delivering facility new build, remodel, or modification projects
  • Paid work experience delivering signage and way finding design and implementation projects in a facility setting
  • Paid work experience working with or for a government agency on facility construction projects
  • Paid work experience managing construction budgets and schedules

Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top-scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.

Hours / Days

Monday-Friday from 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$72,675.20 – $85,914.40 annually

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Planning or a directly related field and two years of full‑time work experience in building or construction project management; a directly-related internship may be applied toward required work experience, or equivalent. Must have and maintain a valid class D driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a State Building Official and commercial or construction project management work experience is highly desirable.
