The OSU Center for Developmental Disabilities (OSUCDD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will actively engage in research projects and programs within OSUCDD. Fellows will receive training and mentorship focused on conducting community‑engaged research, guided by two primary OSUCDD mentors (Dr. Jennifer Jones and Dr. Kami Gallus). Fellows will collaborate with an existing team of faculty, staff, community members with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and their families to co‑design and conduct OSUCDD research projects.
Fellows will also collaborate on secondary research projects and community‑engaged programming led by other OSUCDD faculty and staff. This is a full‑time, 12‑month appointment with the possibility of renewal for an additional one to two years based on performance, funding availability, and group needs. The anticipated start date is Spring 2026.
- Conduct both independent and collaborative research focused on individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of current research methodologies and approaches specific to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
- Lead and manage research projects involving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
- Employ advanced data collection techniques appropriate to the study of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
- Contribute to the scholarly literature through peer‑reviewed publications and presentations.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and support ongoing research initiatives within OSUCDD.
- Doctoral degree in the area of Human Development and Family Science, Disability Studies, Psychology, Allied Health, or a closely related field of study.
- Demonstrated interest/experience with community‑engaged research alongside individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or their family members/supporters.
- Professional goal to develop an independent research career in this area.
