Overview
The Department of Biology at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater invites applications for a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor position with a start date of August 2026. We seek an individual who will focus on teaching human anatomy and physiology courses and participate in the department’s pursuit of excellence in education. Applicants should provide evidence of their skills in science education and pedagogy, which may include designing curriculum, developing biology labs, and/or experience with oversight of large courses.
Teaching Assistant Professors are career-track faculty at OSU, appointed initially for three years with the expectation of reappointment, dependent on satisfactory performance. Full faculty benefits are provided, and the position is eligible for promotion to the ranks of Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching Professor.
Responsibilities- Teach the equivalent of three courses per semester and participate in department service activities.
- Oversee and mentor graduate teaching assistants and undergraduate students.
- Play an integral teaching role in human anatomy and physiology courses.
- PhD or equivalent in Biology or a related field. Evidence of high-quality teaching.
- Evidence of successful college or university-level student mentorship.
- Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
