Hiring Range: $96,000 - $160,000

About This PositionThis recruitment is for positions that are part of a Career Development Plan (CDP). Levels within the CDP and their responsibilities are outlined below. Actual salary and title will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, internal equity, and departmental funding. The range indicated above includes both the typical hiring range and potential future progression.
R&D Engineer III ($96,000 - $124,000)Responsible for all duties of the previous levels in addition to:
- Provides technical support to clients and assist with troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
- Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
Responsible for all duties of the previous levels in addition to:
- Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
- Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Has extensive engineering knowledge.
Responsible for all duties of the previous levels in addition to:
- Provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- May work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state‑of‑the‑art technical or industry knowledge.
- Has extensive engineering knowledge and is considered an expert in one or more engineering specialties.
- Bachelor's in Engineering (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- R&D Engineer OAIRE III:
Four‑seven years of professional work experience in a related field - R&D Engineer OAIRE IV:
Seven‑ten years of professional work experience in a related field - R&D Engineer OAIRE V:
Ten or more years of professional work experience in a related field
- PhD or Master's in Engineering
- Ten years of professional work experience in UAS research, design, and UAS Applications
- Mid-Senior level
- Full-time
- Engineering and Information Technology
- Higher Education (Industry)
