Senior Lab Technologist
, Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) in the Molecular department.

Location: OSU‑Stillwater, Stillwater, OK.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Appointment Length: Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice.

Salary: $17.00–$23.00 per hour.

Priority Application Date: Submit by 2025‑12‑31 for full consideration.

About This Position: The Senior Lab Technologist prepares and processes animal tissues, fluids, bacterial/fungal cultures, and other clinical specimens for DNA/RNA extraction, conducts routine molecular biology techniques, assists in writing and implementing new SOPs, test validation, and equipment maintenance, and maintains laboratory and storage areas in a clean and orderly state. Additional duties may be assigned. Rabies immunization is required and will be provided.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before start date).
  • Four years’ related work experience (post‑secondary education in Biology or related field may be substituted for years of experience).
  • Rabies immunization (required and provided).
  • Basic knowledge in molecular techniques: RNA/DNA extractions, PCR analysis, molecular assay development, gel electrophoresis, troubleshooting, and general laboratory equipment proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field.
  • Experience with PCR and working with nucleic acids.
  • Previous experience working in a diagnostic research lab.
