We offer programs leading to a B.S. degree in Entomology, M.S. degree in Entomology and Plant Pathology, and Ph.D. degree programs in Plant Pathology or Entomology. The undergraduate entomology program, with 70 students, is the second largest in the United States. Students in the B.S. program may specialize in insect biology and ecology, pre-medicine, pre-veterinary, or bioforensics.
The department supports undergraduate general studies education programs and courses for students in the departments of Animal and Food Sciences, Plant and Soil Sciences, Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, and others. Facilities include the Institute for Biosecurity & Microbial Forensics, Pesticide Safety Education Program, Stored Products Research and Education Center, Plant Disease and Insect Diagnostic Lab, and the Insect Adventure. The department is committed to enhancing an excellent team of diverse faculty, staff, post-docs, and students, and promoting positive and inclusive work environments for all individuals.
