- Provide best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests, respond to questions and concerns courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about special promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items when appropriate, apply all selling behaviors during each transaction, and express gratitude to every guest. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
- Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering promptly and professionally to ensure every guest receives excellent service.
- Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Keep all areas of the store clean, organized, and merchandised according to company guidelines; ensure store fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
- Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required.
- Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the selling floor.
- Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties.
- Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits accurately; ensure sufficient cash and change for sales transactions.
- Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and record any issues in the POS system; report discrepancies to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager as needed.
- Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring all boxes are properly labeled with packing lists.
- Close out procedures and associate safety checks at the end of shifts as required.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.
- Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures and follow opening and closing procedures.
- Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management.
- Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
- Video game knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

- Exceptional guest service skills and the ability to provide genuine and friendly assistance to every guest during each visit.
- Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Meet performance expectations, including attendance, professional dress, and grooming requirements.
- Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork.
- Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
- Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks timely.
- Problem-solving skills and judgment abilities.
- Follow instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
- Flexible schedule including extended hours/days, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
- Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs; stand and move for up to 10 hours per day.
Compensation: $8.50 - $11.25
