The Post
Following a successful application to the Scottish Funding Council for additional funding, Scotland’s Community of Access and Participation Practitioners (SCAPP), has an exciting opportunity for a part‑time Communications and Administration Assistant to join the team.
The role will provide administrative and communications support to the SCAPP Development Manager and SCAPP Learning and Development Coordinator, helping to organise, promote and deliver SCAPP’s professional learning opportunities for the widening access and participation sector in Scotland, and supporting the administration of SCAPP’s steering and working groups.
You will report to the SCAPP Learning and Development Coordinator.
This is a part time hybrid role (Stirling Campus/home and at event locations as required).
Additional InformationContinuation of the post after 31 July 2027 would be subject to renewal of annual funding from the Scottish Funding Council.
Flexibility with working hours will be required on occasion to suit business needs e.g. to support scheduled events.
Occasional travel may also be required for events, including, on rare occasions, attendance at evening activities or overnight stays for multi‑day events.
Description of Duties- Undertake administrative tasks associated with the organisation, promotion and delivery of all SCAPP’s activities (both online and in person)
- Collate, prepare and proofread content for the newsletter, website, Linked In and other SCAPP communications
- Schedule meetings of all SCAPP’s Steering Group and working groups, including booking rooms, arranging catering and AV requirements, and taking accurate minutes
- Update and maintain membership records
- Support the promotion and processing of organisational subscriptions
- Use financial systems to create purchase orders, process invoices, and carry out other routine financial transactions
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities, commensurate with the grade of the post, as directed by line manager or SCAPP Development Manager
