About The Role

Balfour Beatty is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Stirling. In this role, you’ll support delivery across our Cambushinnie and East Coast schemes—two key projects within our Scotland portfolio. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to make an impact within a collaborative, forward‑thinking commercial team.

What We’re Looking For

Essential: Strong experience working under NEC contracts.

Not essential: Prior experience in the power sector; we welcome applications from wider infrastructure, civils, utilities, or construction backgrounds.

What you’ll be doing
  • Organise information clearly and carry out systematic data checks.
  • Measure, record and value work independently in line with relevant rules and procedures.
  • Review project programmes.
  • Plan commercial activities to align with programme requirements.
  • Understand the impact of delay and disruption on programme performance.
  • Gather information required to specify procurement needs.
  • Understand and document the steps and requirements for procuring suppliers.
  • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships within your area of responsibility.
  • Carry out measurement of works and agreement of valuations with subcontractors.
  • Collate cost and value information.
  • Prepare cost reconciliation statements.
  • Support the development of colleagues within the commercial team.
  • Continue working toward professional chartership with RICS or an equivalent body.
Who we’re looking for Essential
  • Relevant construction or business degree (or equivalent).
  • Working towards or holding a post‑degree qualification (e.g., RICS).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Experience in construction.
  • NEC contract experience.
Desirable
  • Experience with in the build sector: education, accommodation, or commercial construction.
