PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Product Development Engineer to support the development and continuous improvement of our gas, dual fuel and electrical catering appliances. This is a varied and practical engineering role where you’ll work across new product development, compliance testing, prototype builds and sustaining engineering activities.

• Building, modifying and instrumenting prototypes and pilot units
• Planning and carrying out compliance, EMC, environmental and performance testing
• Supporting new product development and existing product improvements
• Driving DFM, reliability and serviceability enhancements
• Managing test programmes, reports and certification evidence
• Supporting component changes, second sourcing and product variants
• Coordinating external laboratory testing and reviewing results
• Working closely with Design, Production, Quality and Technical teams to deliver right‑first‑time solutions

We’re seeking an engineer who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, hands‑on mindset.

• Experience in product testing, compliance engineering or appliance development
• Knowledge of gas and/or electrical appliance standards and testing
• Hands‑on skills in prototype assembly, wiring, instrumentation and fault finding
• Experience producing technical reports and compliance documentation
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional teams
• Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Gas Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience with in commercial appliances, certification, laboratory engineering or compliance testing is highly desirable
