The Role
The role provides 24hr support at home and in the community for a specific gentleman, assisting with medication, personal and oral care, meal preparation, feeding, mobility, and social activities.
- Provide 24hr support (Friday 14:00 – Monday 10:00) with regular breaks.
- Assist with medication, personal and oral care.
- Support meal planning and preparation; aid in feeding.
- Help with clothing selection and dressing.
- Mobilise the service user via wheelchair and assist with community outings.
- Communicate effectively; manage challenging behaviour and maintain patience.
- Drive the service user to day centre on Mondays; qualified driver preferred.
- Support the service user’s autonomy while providing reassurance.
- Participate in care plan review and risk assessments.
- Enthusiasm, passion, compassion.
- Good communication and respect for dignity.
- Physical fitness (not extreme).
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Driver licence preferred; diving licence for mobility car.
- Experience in supported living or care settings preferred.
- Playing games inside and outside.
- Trips out.
- Walks in the community.
- Trying new activities.
- Listening to music.
