We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our growing team in NHS Forth Valley (FV). This post is suitable for a newly qualified dietitian or a dietitian looking to gain further experience in general clinical dietetics.

The post would allow excellent general dietetic experience working in the community setting across a variety of locations such as care homes, community hospitals, clinics and domiciliary visits. The work in this post is varied and provides a comprehensive service to inpatients, outpatients, care‑home patients, clinics and domiciliary visits and includes a full range of nutrition and dietetic interventions. This post is supported and supervised by band 6 and band 7 dietitians and will be based predominantly in Stirling Community Hospital and will involve cross‑site working at Falkirk, Clackmannan and Bo’ness Community Hospitals and a strong link with the acute team in Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

The Forth Valley clinical dietetic team is a friendly and proactive team providing inpatient and outpatient services within Forth Valley Royal Hospital, four community hospitals and within community services. This post will be part of a team of 44 dietitians providing a wide variety of clinical specialities including mental health, nutritional support, gastro/IBS, home enteral feeding, critical care, renal, stroke, paediatrics, diabetes, along with five dietetic assistants and a support team.

All team members are expected to actively contribute to departmental activities such as student training, department meetings, quality improvement projects and when necessary to provide cover in other parts of the service, including the department duty service.

NHS Forth Valley is centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, easy access to major cities and spectacular countryside.

As from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
