Cyber and Information Security Manager

NHS Forth Valley is recruiting a Cyber and Information Security Manager. We are looking for a dynamic individual, with strong leadership skills, to head up the Cyber and Information Security Team and drive cyber and information security forward throughout the organisation. Based within the Information Governance Unit, the Cyber and Information Security Manager will lead and advise on matters of Cyber / Information Security Technical Controls, Procedures and Standards. The post holder is responsible for creating and implementing NHS Forth Valley’s Information Security Management System to ensure compliance with the Networks and Information Systems Regulation 2018 (NIS). Acting as our NIS Audit lead and as a key member of the Cyber Incident Response Team, they will be responsible for ensuring our incident response plans remain fit for purpose and up to date.

The post holder will lead on the development and implementation of NHS Forth Valley Information Security Policies and Information Governance Framework. The successful candidate will need to be able to assess Cyber Security Technical controls, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including local Digital teams and partner organisations), provide expert specialist advice on Information and Cyber Security to all staff in NHS Forth Valley (with varying degrees of technical understanding), and deputise for the Head of Information Governance as required.

We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to work, excellent presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to complete a Level 2 Disclosure Scotland check.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
