Day Shift Mechanical Engineer

39,908 + 800 bonus

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in Stirling for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent dayshift basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturer where you'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, reducing downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for the planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of production machinery and site services, ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and operating at maximum efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Working from the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Assisting production teams with technical support and problem solving
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety at all times
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen and 5S initiatives
  • Liaising with suppliers when required to source parts outside of normal working hours

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with Mechanical Engineers who have experience within manufacturing, production or heavy industrial environments.

You'll ideally have:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience maintaining manufacturing or production plant
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Conveyors
    • Rotating equipment
    • Gearboxes
    • Pumps
    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
  • Experience working with planned maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team
  • Basic IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
