Chief Executive Circular Communities Scotland

Location:

Stirling, hybrid

Salary: £62,000 - £67,000

Circular Communities Scotland is Scotland's national membership body supporting the repair and recycling sector. Our members strengthen communities, reduce waste, create local benefit and help Scotland move towards a more circular economy. Circular Communities Scotland represents and supports over 270 charities and social enterprises providing access to repair and recycling to communities across Scotland.

The Chief Executive is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the organisation, working with the Board to set and deliver strategy and position Circular Communities Scotland effectively within Scotland's circular economy. You will have responsibility for business planning, financial management and budget oversight, alongside developing funding, partnerships and income opportunities to support Circular Communities Scotland's long-term sustainability.

A significant external aspect of the role is to represent and advocate for Circular Communities Scotland and its members, building strong relationships with member organisations, Scottish Government and wider stakeholders.

We are looking for a values-led, strategic and credible senior leader who can lead Circular Communities Scotland through its next phase of development, strengthening its impact, influence and long-term sustainability. The successful candidate will be an effective relationship builder and advocate, able to work confidently with the Board, staff, members, funders and public-sector stakeholders and represent the interests of the sector externally.

You will bring strong organisational leadership, financial and business planning capability, experience of income generation and funding relationships. Direct circular economy experience is not essential, but you should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to Circular Communities Scotland's social and environmental purpose and the ability to quickly understand Scotland's waste, resources and circular economy policy environment.
