An opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (School Nursing) to join the NHS Forth Valley Staff Bank Service.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for a School Nurse with a postgraduate Specialist Community Public Health (School Nursing) qualification to join an evolving School Nursing Team in NHS Forth Valley.

The post holder will function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, proficiency and experience to ensure they act as part of a team which provides a safe, person-centred and effective quality service to the school-aged population of Forth Valley.

The post holder will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high-quality, culturally sensitive, safe, person-centred and effective school health service in the community, by working in partnership with children, young people and families, care providers and other agencies.

The post holder will be the clinical specialist who will be accountable for case management within a defined caseload, delegating work to Family Support Workers in the School Health Team as appropriate to manage care.

The School Health Service operates an open access service to families and communities within home, education, community and primary care settings to promote a healthy lifestyle within the local population, giving particular attention to the identified health needs of the locality.

The School Nurse will work proficiently to deliver the ten national priority pathways as set by the Scottish Government.

As part of the Staff Bank, opportunities may include supporting ongoing service delivery across the School Nursing Service, contributing to assessment, intervention and care for children, young people and families.

Applicants must be a first level registered nurse and have a postgraduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of child protection systems.

Due to the geographical location, the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
