Assistant Manager

30 hour contract | Stirling - Kerse Road

As an Assistant Manager at Stephens Bakery, you are a key leader in the shop. You take responsibility for leading the team day-to-day, ensuring the shop runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Each day you will help deliver great customer service, high-quality products, and a positive, motivated team.

Job: Assistant Manager

Hours: 30 Hours — flexible shifts over midweek and weekends

Location: Kerse Road, Stirling

Rate of Pay: from £14.48 per hour

We are opening our new shop on Kerse Road, Stirling in the coming months. We are looking to recruit a team that will train within one of our other shops before transitioning over to Kerse Road when it opens.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the shop team during your shifts—setting the pace, making decisions, and keeping everyone focused.
  • Be involved in rota planning and solve short-term cover issues when in shop.
  • Help support with team performance issues.
  • Be a visible and approachable leader, actively supporting your team through busy periods and challenges.
  • Role model high standards of customer service, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Support with team development, helping to train new starters and give guidance to others.
  • Actively serve customers alongside the team and model excellent customer service.
  • Make sure the shop is always welcoming, clean, and well-stocked with fresh, high-quality product.
  • Help ensure the team follows all food safety, health & safety, and company policies.
  • Carry out daily checks and paperwork to keep the shop compliant and safe.
  • Manage opening and closing duties, till processes, and cash handling. Support ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.
  • Promote teamwork and a positive atmosphere, stepping in to resolve issues early.
