Position: Gap Homes Project Worker 2 (23673)

Gap Homes Stirling and Renfrewshire have an office base and self-contained tenancies for young people who are supported during their stay and as they move on to independence. Young people are also provided with support in the community to set up and prevent any breakdown of their future tenancy.

The Team consists of a Service Manager, Team Manager, Administrator and Practitioner Posts. The role requires a holistic understanding of young people's needs and the impact of trauma, care and other life circumstances common for this group of young people. The post holder will be expected to be flexible, work as part of the Stirling and Renfrewshire team and communicate well with young people, their families and networks, professionals and others.

This role will involve:

  • Working alongside young people to coordinate and deliver outcome focused support tailored to individual needs
  • Delivering a variety of trauma informed and evidenced based interventions in partnership with statutory and third sector colleagues to promote children and young people's well-being.
  • lead on Risk assessment and complex case management .
  • Providing detailed assessments and representation within multiagency meetings.
  • Developing and delivering evidence informed practice.
  • To work alongside young people and adopt a community capacity building approach to enable young people to become independent in the future
  • Commitment and experience of application of the principles of the The Promise.

The successful applicant should be motivated, driven and can work on their own initiative and in addition as part of a wider multidisciplinary team. Experience of supporting young people during key life transitions underpinned by relationship-based practice to work alongside young people affected by multiple adversities is essential.

You will receive induction, support, learning, development and training as well as supervision and performance appraisals. Barnardo's has an excellent range of supports for staff and you will be part of the wider Forth Valley staff team. Whilst the post is based in Stirling there may be occasional times when cover is required for our alternative site. The post will involve planned shift work over 7 days including evenings and weekends.

Whilst funding is for 37 hours, we would positively welcome applications from people who would prefer part-time.
