Our client is an established and growing accounting firm seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join its team.

  • THE ROLE:

    As a Senior Manager, you will manage and oversee a portfolio of clients while acting as a trusted advisor on a range of accounting, financial, tax, assurance, and business matters.

    You will take ownership of client engagements, work directly with clients to understand their businesses and challenges, and provide practical recommendations that support their continued growth and success.

    This is a role for someone who wants to move beyond simply completing engagements and instead become a valued business advisor and long-term partner to their clients.

    ABOUT YOU:

    Experience, Education, and Professional Development:
  • CPA designation
  • Several years of progressive experience in public accounting.
  • Experience with in a large or mid-sized accounting firm is considered an asset.
  • Strong experience across assurance, accounting, tax, and/or advisory services.
  • Experience managing multiple engagements and competing priorities.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge to real-world business situations.
  • Experience working with privately held, entrepreneurial, and/or owner-managed businesses.
  • Strong client relationship and communication skills.
  • The confidence and professionalism to work directly with business owners and senior decision-makers.
  • Experience reviewing work and providing coaching and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an interest in understanding the business behind the financial statements.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to identify opportunities to add value.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail.

    Competencies:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and develop strong, trusted relationships.
  • Lead and oversee client engagements from planning through completion.
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements, working papers, and other accounting deliverables.
  • Provide accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory support based on client needs.
  • Work directly with business owners and senior leaders to understand their financial and operational priorities.
  • Translate financial information into practical insights and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clients' financial and operational performance.
