Senior Accountant

Our client is a successful and steadily growing firm in St. John's, NL
, with a strong reputation and an expanding client base. They are looking to add an experienced Senior Accountant to their team - a dedicated accounting professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to contribute across a range of accounting and client needs.

This permanent
, full-time, in-office opportunity offers the chance to take on greater responsibility, build specialized experience within the film and television industry, and work with additional clients in this sector.

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of clients
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Complete monthly bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payments
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related working papers
• Support month-end and year-end accounting and reporting processes
• Prepare HST/GST remittances and other government filings
• Assist with corporate tax preparation and related requirements
• Review financial information, identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues
• Maintain organized and accurate client files and supporting documentation
• Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting, tax and financial reporting requirements
• Support additional accounting, tax and client projects as the business continues to grow

• Minimum three years' experience in public practice accounting
• CPA designation or progress toward the designation is considered an asset; however, candidates with equivalent experience and technical accounting expertise will be considered equally
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within public practice or a multi-client environment
• Film, television or media industry experience is considered a strong asset
• Comfortable managing multiple client files, priorities and deadlines
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
• Professional and confident communicating directly with clients
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to take ownership of assigned work
• Comfortable working with accounting software and technology
