Location: St. John's
Join us as a Field Technician focused on geotechnical projects, performing essential duties in construction testing, compliance monitoring, and fieldwork. You’ll thrive in a supportive team dedicated to client satisfaction and project excellence.
This role is based in St. John’s, NL, requiring field inspections and testing services for soils, concrete, and asphalt at various construction sites close to the city and possibly across the province. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians, adhering to health and safety regulations and improving project outcomes. This contract will be effective through the 2026 construction season, with prospects for longer-term work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project designs
• Perform field and lab tests on construction materials
• Coach and guide junior staff in technical skills
• Manage responsibilities for testing procedures and documentation
• Collaborate with engineers on project execution strategies
Requirements:
• 10-15 years of geotechnical experience required
• Technical degree/diploma/certificate in the field
• Must possess a valid Driver's License for the region
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Willing to travel and work extended hours if requested
