Video Editor; Transparent Labs

Location: St. John’s, NL (In-office preferred; remote applicants across Canada accepted)

We are searching for a creative and technically strong Growth Video Editor to turn creator, athlete, product, and brand footage into high-performing paid social content for Transparent Labs.

You’ll work closely with our Paid Media/Creative team to shape hooks, pacing, and stories. Some projects will come with clear briefs; others will need you to find the strongest idea in raw footage. The role combines fast performance edits, more advanced builds, and creative iteration.

• Performance Editing:
  Edit short-form UGC, talking heads, athlete, interview, product, and brand footage for Meta and other ad platforms.
• Creative Iteration:
  Develop new hooks, openings, pacing variations, CTAs, and alternate cuts. Use performance learnings to evolve winning ads and improve future creative.
• Raw Footage & Storytelling:
  Build complete ads from raw footage, identifying strong moments and shaping the hook, narrative, and close. Spot opportunities in existing assets.
• Advanced Edits:
  Create motion graphics, typography, overlays, screenshots, product callouts, masking, compositing, and other visual treatments that strengthen the idea.
• Production &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  A typical week may include 12–16 briefed edits, 3–4 advanced edits, and 1–2 raw-footage builds, adjusted for complexity. Contribute references and editing ideas.
• Light Design & Handoff:
  Handle occasional photo retouching, resizing, and simple static layouts, alongside revisions, exports, versioning, file organization, and final handoff.

• Strong Editing Foundation:
  Confidence in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent software, with experience in motion graphics. After Effects, Fusion, and Photoshop are assets.
• Creative Judgment:
  Strong instincts for hooks, pacing, retention, and storytelling. You can make UGC feel polished and natural, and own an edit without every decision being prescribed.
• Organization &
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Manage multiple edits, versions, and deadlines, communicate clearly, and respond well to feedback while maintaining speed and attention to detail.
• Curiosity About Performance:
  Interest in why ads work and willingness to learn performance marketing. Paid social, e-commerce, AI-assisted workflows, and basic design experience are assets.
• Passion for the Industry: A genuine interest in fitness, nutrition, and wellness.
