Location: St. John's
Become a Mathematics Instructor with the Association for New Canadians in St. John’s, NL! This role focuses on enhancing newcomer and refugee students' math skills through engaging lesson plans and interactive teaching methods.
In this temporary position, you will develop effective learning materials and monitor participant progress to create an inclusive atmosphere. You'll utilize student-centered strategies while supporting academic and emotional well-being, fostering respect and understanding among diverse participants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans and materials
• Deliver tailored mathematics instruction and support
• Use engaging techniques to enhance understanding
• Facilitate both individual and group learning activities
• Track attendance and student engagement levels
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent training
• Prior experience teaching mathematics
• Familiarity with multilingual and newcomer youth
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
• Availability to work flexible hours
