Intermediate Science and Social Studies Teacher

Location: St. John's

Elevate student learning at Mount Pearl Intermediate as a full-time Intermediate Science and Social Studies Teacher. Lead engaging lessons, driving inquiry and project-based learning from September 2026.

This permanent position requires a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Science and a minor in Social Studies. You will design lessons to meet curriculum standards while incorporating self-directed learning and community engagement. The role includes additional teaching responsibilities as needed, creating a rich learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging science and social studies lessons

• Integrate student-driven inquiry and community projects

• Foster self-directed learning initiatives in the classroom

• Create assessments that reflect student understanding

• Maintain active communication with parents and staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education

• Major in Science, minor in Social Studies

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• Experience with curriculum standards and lesson design

• Commitment to student engagement and support
