Location: St. John's
Lead the English Language Arts department at Holy Heart High School, St. John's, from September 2026 to June 2027. This full-time role emphasizes collaboration, curriculum delivery, and student success.
The successful Department Head will join the school's leadership team, fostering an inclusive environment conducive to learning. With responsibilities including teacher support and professional development coordination, you will ensure effective curriculum implementation for student achievement. You will also assist in annual staffing plans and facilitate school-based collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee curriculum delivery in English Language Arts
• Support teachers’ instructional strategies and methodologies
• Collaborate on annual staffing and scheduling plans
• Coordinate professional development for faculty and staff
• Provide leadership on school and departmental initiatives
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education – Secondary
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field
• NL Teaching Certificate – Level IV or higher
• English Language Arts Major (10 courses)
• 5+ years of successful teaching experience
